A Marine stationed at Twentynine Palms, California, was stabbed to death in an apartment on Feb. 5.
Lance Cpl. Dominique Clement was killed in a Twentynine Palms residence at the 74000 block of Joe Davis Drive, according to KESQ.
William Olivo, 25, was found nearby with a knife and arrested on Feb. 5 in connection with the stabbing, law enforcement officials said.
The San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department said that Olivo is a former Marine.
Olivo was charged with murder and is being held on $1 million bail, according to the local news report.
Clement joined the Marine Corps in July 2016 and was stationed at the Marine Corps Communication-Electronic School, according to Marine Corps spokesman Cpl. Devin Andrews.
Originally from Louisiana, Clement's awards include the National Defense Medal.
