The four Marines killed Monday after two helicopters collided in midair over Afghanistan’s Helmand province were assigned to units based at Camp Pendleton, Calif., according to the Pentagon.
They are:

Capt. Eric A. Jones, 29, of Westchester, N.Y.
Capt. David S. Mitchell, 30, of Loveland, Ohio.
Capt. Kyle R. Van De Giesen, 29, of North Attleboro, Mass.
Fleury, Jones and Van De Giesen were assigned to Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 169. Mitchell was assigned to HMLA-367.
Two other Marines were injured in the accident involving an AH-1W Super Cobra and UH-1N Huey, Marine officials said. They have not been identified.
